Data processing
When your recordings show personal data, you are its controller and version.cam processes it for you. These are the terms of that processing, as Article 28 of the GDPR asks for them. They are part of theterms of service, and where the two differ about personal data, these apply. A signed copy is available on request from hello@version.cam.
The parties and the processing
The processor is RMTR studio, Peter Bulovec s.p., Smokuč 15a, 4274 Žirovnica, Slovenia. The controller is you, the customer whose CI publishes the recordings. The subject of the processing is the storage, rendering and serving of those recordings; its duration is as long as you have a project with us; its nature and purpose are what your project's settings say, and nothing else. The data is whatever your app's screens show at the moment of recording, typically the names, addresses and other details of the test accounts your clips sign in with; the people are whoever those screens show, your users, your staff or the personas of your test data.
What we undertake
- We process the data only to provide the service and only on your instructions, which are your project's settings: its visibility, how long it keeps versions, and where it sends notifications. We tell you if we believe an instruction breaks the law.
- It is stored in the European Union, in Cloudflare's EU jurisdiction, and leaves it only through the companies on the subprocessors page, on the basis that page gives for each. Each is bound by terms at least as protective as these. We tell you 30 days before adding one, and you may object as that page says.
- Access is limited to what running the service needs and to the people who run it, and everyone with access is bound to confidentiality.
- Security, as Article 32 asks: every address is served over HTTPS; a private project's clips play only for people GitHub lets read its repository, through signed addresses; tokens are stored as hashes; a Slack webhook is encrypted at rest; the request logs lose their query strings before they are written; and the service's security policy is at security.txt.
- We tell you within 72 hours of learning of a breach that affects your data, with what we know, what it means for the people concerned and what we have done, and we add what we learn as we learn it.
- We help you answer the people whose data it is and the authorities, within the time the law gives you, and with a data protection impact assessment where you need one.
- When you delete a project, its records go at once and its files within minutes. When your account ends, the same happens to every project in it. Nothing is kept but what tax law requires us to keep, and the name of a deleted project, so that a CI job cannot quietly bring it back.
- We answer your written questions about how the processing is done, and give you the records we keep about it (this page, the subprocessors page and our record of processing), within thirty days. An audit on site is by agreement, at most once a year, at your cost, and only where a report has not answered the question.
